Review: The Ballerina Diet
The Ballerina Diet, in and of itself, is not a formal diet program. Rather it is a general set of eating guidelines that are purportedly followed by professional ballerinas to maintain their svelte figures and maximize the amount of muscle they gain. When followed properly, the Ballerina Diet guidelines will allow an individual to lose weight, stabilize their metabolism, and improve their general overall health. The simple guidelines of the Ballerina Diet are as follows:
1) Do not overeat. An individual should only eat until their stomach feels full. Then, they should stop.
2) Different protein products, such as fish or beef, cannot be combined in one meal. Preferably, a follower of the Ballerina Diet should choose one or the other source of protein for the day and stick with it.
3) During lunch, an individual should only consume low calorie soup, like the options offered by Campbell’s Select.
4) Any milk and dairy products that are consumed should be free of fat and calories when possible.
5) A follower of the diet should drink approximately 2 liters of mineral water (without gas) each day, but he or she is not allowed to drink water 30 minutes prior to their next meal.
6) When food is being prepared for a meal or snack, salt must not be added to it.
The Ballerina Diet is designed to be only a short term weight loss program, and it should be followed until an individual has reached their ideal weight. Because it is a low calorie diet, it is effective in achieving the intended weight loss results, and many followers of the diet have also stated that it has improved their overall endurance. The primary disadvantage to this diet is that it requires small portions, which may leave some individuals feeling hungry or food deprived, which can increase one’s difficulty in following the diet.
It must also be taken into account that this diet can deprive some individuals of the vitamins and nutrients that their bodies require; therefore, it is recommended that followers of the Ballerina Diet also consume a multivitamin on a daily basis. However, because the Ballerina Diet is simple to follow and can be used by almost anyone, it is becoming increasingly popular. As always, an individual should consult their primary care physician before beginning any new diet regimen. For more great tips and advide check out how to lose weight today.
