Review: The Biggest Loser for Wii
Losing weight with the Biggest Loser from Wii!!!
The Biggest Loser for Wii offers the perfect blend of technology and at home fitness workouts. Upon starting the game, a user will input their personal information, like their height and current weight, which will then allow them to customize their own workout plan. The different workouts the Biggest Loser contains include over 88 different exercises that combine to create the ideal total body workout. Individual exercises target the upper body, lower body, and focus upon the practice of yoga and cardio workouts. Other helpful tools included in this game include a daily calendar for planning one’s exercises and 50 different healthy recipes from the Biggest Loser Cookbook.
There are four different tools in this game that are designed to assist a participant in losing weight. The first of these tools is the Fitness Program, where one establishes their weight loss goals and designs their workout plan. The second tool is the Health and Lifestyle Program, which includes the recipes, as well as encouragement from the Biggest Loser trainers. The third tool is the actual exercise routines themselves, where one will select from a combination of routines that match their skill levels. Finally, the Challenge Events tool allows an individual to gauge their progress.
Upon embarking upon this program, a participant will be able to choose from among a 4,8, or 12 week program, and they will be able to compete online with contestants for prior seasons of the Biggest Loser. Furthermore, multiplayer functionality allows for the participant to train with a friend or other members of their household and to compete in weekly challenges to see who has truly become the most fit. The Wii Balance Board is compatible with over 66 of the different exercises in this game, including squats, knee lifts, and lunges.
In consumer written reviews, most consumers were skeptical at first that a video game could be an essential weight loss tool; however, they were quickly won over by the challenges the Biggest Loser for Wii presents. The primary complaint against this technologically advanced game was that the Wii remote was not always accurate in reading one’s movements; however, this did not present a problem to most users of the game. All in all, the Biggest Loser for Wii’s starting price tag of $21.99 is a small fee for the changes it will bring about in one’s physique and overall health.
